Hope Lassen comes to her role as Restorative Justice Coach at CPS with over 20 years of experience as an RJ Practitioner. Before joining CPS, she worked with Alternatives, Inc., where Hope created and facilitated many of the district's first Restorative Justice trainings. She also led a team that developed and supported Restorative Justice Trainings for school districts throughout the state. Hope started her restorative work in education, heading Peace Rooms in high schools and elementary schools across CPS. Before entering the education field, Hope led Restorative Justice practices within the criminal justice system. In addition to leading Circles and Victim Offender Dialogues within the prison system, Hope also created and facilitated one of the first Restorative Justice programs that addressed intimate partner violence through Batterer's Intervention Programming. She has taught Restorative Justice courses at Governors State University, as well as Harold Washington College. Hope holds a Juris Doctorate from Marquette University Law School, a Master's degree in Conflict Resolution from Marquette University, and a Bachelor's from Kalamazoo College.
