SY27 Summer Leadership Development: Lead & Learn Forum

Distributive leadership provides the structural framework for teamwork within the school walls. Traditionally, distributive leadership focuses on tapping the expertise of internal staff—teachers, instructional coaches, and assistant principals—to share the burden of school management and instructional growth.

SCS Shared Leadership truly activates the SCS model by transforming a traditional hierarchy into a school community rooted in equity by centering the voices of parents, students, educators, and community partners as co-designers of the school's vision. By actively involving parents, students, community members, and partners, "the team" expands beyond the school payroll.

Ultimately, school transformation thrives when internal pedagogical expertise and community-rooted wisdom are treated with equal value—working in tandem to support the whole child, dismantle barriers to learning, and foster a student-empowered, community-driven school environment.
