Leading conversations about race, systemic bias, and equity requires more than just strategic planning, it requires profound self-awareness. When faced with challenging equity discussions, our bodies often register discomfort before our minds fully process it, triggering physiological responses like fight, flight, or freeze. This session bridges neurobiology and systemic leadership to help school leaders recognize how emotions manifest physically in the body. Participants will learn how to leverage trauma-informed principles to navigate intense emotional landscapes, co-design inclusive spaces, and share power with their communities. By grounding our physiological responses, we can cultivate the resilience needed to actively disrupt inequitable systems and lead our schools toward transformative equity.
