This session will support school leaders in using Rigor Walk: EL Lens tool as a leadership reflection tool to better understand the instructional experiences of multilingual learners across classrooms. Participants will engage with CPS classroom examples, instructional scenarios, and leadership reflection protocols to examine instructional patterns connected to student discourse, language development, culturally and linguistically responsive instruction, and multilingual learner engagement. The session will also explore why a multilingual learner-specific lens is necessary within instructional walkthrough practices and how the EL Lens extends beyond traditional rigor walks by helping leaders identify language development, linguistic access, and multilingual learner participation within Tier 1 instruction.

Participants will reflect on how school leaders, ELPTs, and instructional leadership teams can use reflective walkthrough practices, instructional feedback, coaching conversations, and professional learning structures to strengthen coherence and improve multilingual learner instructional experiences schoolwide.
