The AI Guidebook outlines Chicago Public Schools' foundational approach to the safe, responsible, and meaningful adoption of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI), establishing shared language and guidelines for all stakeholders. We are proud to announce the launch of our Instructional GenAI Playbook, serving as a practical companion to the Guidebook. It provides educators with actionable, "human-in-the-loop" guidance for both utilizing and avoiding Generative AI in meaningful ways that balance innovative classroom applications with a steadfast commitment to ethical use and critical thinking. Together, these strategic resources are designed to help safeguard and support our instructional practices, and foster AI literacy across the district. This session will support school leaders in thinking about how to act on the District's AI guidance. Participants will analyze teacher artifacts from GenAI PLCs with partners such as Stanford and Playlab, put theory into practice with scenario-based excerises, and collaboratively discuss implementation strategies.
